If you thought only the royal palace in England was worth seeing, you surely are missing out on something magical, the Kensington Palace. The palace is known to ooze remnants of the past and in the beginning the Palace was known to the locals as the famous Nottingham House. At first it was under the then Earl of Nottingham and hence the name in the beginning. But it was in the year 1689 when William III took over the mansion from the then Earl of Nottingham, and refurbished the entire palace. In recent times, the Kensington Palace was known to be the home of the worlds favorite Princess, Princess Diana. Sources say the late princess lived at the west wing of the Palace, until her untimely and very shocking death, which happened in 2002. At present the building is inhabited by Prince and Princess Michael of Kent along with the well known Duke and Duchess of Kent and Gloucester as well. They all belong to the royal family and are known to be the queen's cousins. The Kensington Palace also resides workers who work for Her Majesty, the Queen of England. It is also here at the Kensington Palace, where Prince Charles is known to drop by to perform tasks and to supervise the works for the royal administrative needs, says a source.
